The 3.9m (13ft) giant manned robot “Method-2” was revealed in the Gunpo studio of Hankook Mirae Technology company near Seoul on Thursday. The 1.5 ton mammoth machine responds to the actions of its handler who sits in a central cockpit, walking like a human and moving its robot arms and fingers. Building the giant robot was a challenge for the engineers and for lead designer Vitaly Bulgarov, who has previously worked on film series such as Transformers, Robocop, and Terminator. It remains unclear how the robot will be used.
