Some 200 protesters from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party were detained by police during an anti-government demonstration in Islamabad. The police acted under the Criminal Procedure Code, withdrawing the right to political gatherings in Islamabad for two months. The protests come as Pakistani prime minister and leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Sharif faces heavy criticism for his family's alleged involvement in the Panama Papers revelations.
