An anti-fascist and pro-refugee demonstration took over Athens on Friday. The protest was also held to commemorate two years since a Golden Dawn party member murdered anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas. The participants demanded the opening of EU countries’ borders for refugees and actions to prevent their deaths in the seas around Europe. The demonstrators marched passed the Hellenic Parliament, carrying huge 'Refugees Welcome' banners and placards decrying fascism and racism.
