Time-lapse footage recorded on August 4 from the International Space Station (ISS) and released on Wednesday showed the Super Typhoon Soudelor's small but distinguishable eye as it approaches Taiwan. With sustained winds of up to 218 mph, Super Typhoon Soudelor is category 5 on the hurricane scale, making it the strongest tropical cyclone on earth in 2015 so far. The storm's intensity has decreased since its peak of 218mph on Monday and NASA experts predict Soudelor to weaken further before it hits the island. However, Taiwan can still expect heavy rain and gusty winds, as the super typhoon is likely to be a category 3 or 4 on the storm scale.
