According to the Saudi Arabian government, the airstrikes are being carried out in order to attack Houthi militias and reinstate the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who fled to Saudi Arabia in March. At least 519 people, including women and children, have been killed; with 1,700 more injured during the Saudi-led military campaign, according to Valerie Amos, the UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs.
