12,000+ troops take part in 2nd stage of Russia-Belarus military drills

The joint Russia-Belarus Zapad 2017 drills started at the Ruzhanskiy range in Belarus on Thursday. Around 12,700 troops are taking part in the drills – 7,200 from Belarus, and 5,500 from Russia. Around 70 military aircraft, 10 ships, and 680 land vehicles, including 250 tanks, and 200 artillery pieces are also participating.
