Firefighting aircraft douse 4,800-hectare forest blaze in Rostov Region, Russia

Dozens of units of equipment were deployed to quell a 4,800-hectare forest fire in Rostov Region's Ust-Donetskiy District on Sunday. According to the local Emergencies Ministry office, 96 paratroopers joined the firefighting operation. Eight aircraft were also deployed to the site, including two Be-200 amphibious planes, two Emergencies Ministry helicopters, an Il-76 and helicopters of the Defense Ministry. They dropped over 450 tons of water in more than 60 discharges.
