SCO member states hold anti-terrorist drills in Russia

Anti-terrorist drills conducted by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) were held in Yaroslavl Region on Thursday. The purpose of the drills is to decrease the threat of penetration by terrorists in the territory of SCO member states, as well as to practice combating overwhelming terrorist acts and reducing the impact following an attack. The SCO is a political, economic and security organization made up of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan, formed in 2001.
