Thousands of women marched through the streets of Istanbul on Sunday to protest violations of women's rights and to express their disagreement with the upcoming April referendum on constitutional reform, which is likely to expand the powers of the Turkish president.

The protesters also denounced the arrest of female pro-Kurdish activists Figen Yuksekdag, Gultan Kisanak and Gultan Kisanak, as well as the murder of three female members of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), assassinated in Paris in 2013.
