Around 300 ‘Black Lives Matter’ activists took to the streets of Saint Paul in Minnesota, on Saturday, to rally for Philip Quinn, a 30-year-old black man who was shot dead by police on September 24. Protesters marched under banners calling for justice and blocking the traffic.
On September 24, police arrived at Quinn's residence, responding to a call made by his mother saying that he was mentally ill and suicidal. When the police arrived at the house they found Quinn holding a screwdriver, and shot him several times after he allegedly failed to obey police commands. Quinn was then taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he died.
