The process of installing the first 227-meter-long railway arch of the Kerch Strait Bridge was captured in timelapse footage Tuesday. It took around 12 hours for the 6,000-ton, 45-meter-tall arch to be raised with the help of lifting equipment under the supervision of the lead engineers of the project. The arch was then fixed in place. The multi-billion dollar project, once finished, will be 12 miles (19 km) long, connecting Crimea to the Krasnodar Region in mainland Russia.
