Footage taken on Tuesday, May 30, shows the US military launching a missile defense test following North Korea's firing of a ballistic missile into Japanese waters a day before. An intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was fired from the Reagan Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands and is estimated to have cost approximately $244 million. The ground-based interceptor was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California shortly afterwards.
