India launches ‘South Asia Satellite’

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched its ‘South Asia Satellite’ (GSAT-9) from Sriharikota into space aboard a GSLV-F09 rocket on Friday.

The satellite will provide communication and disaster support, as well as connectivity among countries in the South Asia region, as well as other services.
