Clashes erupted between activists from the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDGH) and police in the Gazi district in Istanbul, on Tuesday. The activists were reacting to Ankara's ongoing crackdown on the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeast of the country. Turkish police deployed water cannon and fired tear gas at protesters, who threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks.
