Roughly 100 students clashed with police forces at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. Masked students held a banner in Turkish reading “Kurdish people are not alone” before engaging in clashes with the police. The protesters threw stones and shot fireworks in the direction of police officers and vehicles. The police deployed water cannon trucks to disperse the crowd. Anti-government protests flared up after Turkish authorities re-strated tier crackdownd on Kurds in the southeast of the country in mid-summer.
