Thousands of protesters held a mass torchlight procession in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa, Thursday, rallying against alleged government corruption and collusion with the US. Vice President of the National Congress of Honduras Lena Gutierrez is the latest official to be called to the tribunal for her alleged participation in the embezzlement of $350 million of the Honduran Institute of Social Security (IHSS). Protesters were also railing against the potential involvement of former President Porfirio Lobo Sosa and calling for the resignation of several top prosecutors for failing to hold a proper investigation.
