Thousands marched through the streets of Los Angeles on Friday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the mass killing of 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks in 1915. The 'March for Justice’ was also set as a protest against the Turkish government for refusing to recognize the mass killings as 'genocide'. The 6-mile (9.65 km) march began at Sunset Boulevard and Western Avenue in 'Little Armenia' and ended at the Turkish Consulate on Wilshire Boulevard. Los Angeles has the largest population of ethnic Armenians in the USA.
