Some 10,000 people marched in France's capital on Monday to protest against recent changes to social welfare and tax systems. Several demonstrators also tried to break into a Government Information Service (SIG) building in central Paris. The demonstrators, mostly self-employed craftsmen and tradesmen, came out to denounce what they see as failures by the Social Program for Independents in France (RSI), including the incorrect counting of pensions and increasingly high taxes on independent professionals.
