1 year on: Thousands flood to Kiev in commemoration of Maidan

Thousands of mourners gathered in central Kiev on Sunday to take part in a 'March of Dignity' to remember those killed during last year's Maidan protests. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko attended the march, which began on Instytustka Street with a short remembrance ceremony. Moldavian President Nikolae Timofti, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, Polish President Bronislav Komorowski and the President of the European Council Donald Tusk also took part in the ceremony. Poroshenko led the marching crowd towards Independence Square where a prayer service was held.
