Maradona will ‘train together with the guys’ at new team in Belarus
The 57-year-old World Cup winner told Match TV that he is heading off on a 15-day vacation in Argentina to take a much-needed rest after an exhausting season.
“I will fly [to Argentina] to spend well-deserved holidays, as I have worked intensely for a year and a half,” Maradona was quoted as saying.
“I couldn’t even spend Christmas with my family and attend my daughter’s wedding. So I want to go on a 15-day vacation to gain strength and energy [before the season]. I want to immediately start training with the guys upon my arrival back. I think they really need it. When I was watching a game I felt a desire to attend a training session. I see that the players want to win matches and I really like this attitude,” he added.
The Argentinian legend made the headlines for his stadium antics at the World Cup in Russia, and signed a three-year contract with the Belarusian club where he will hold the post of chairman.
Last week, Maradona was again in the spotlight as he arrived in a huge military vehicle to watch Dinamo’s match against Shakhter Soligorsk.
