Deaths in US immigration prisons in shadow
More than one in ten deaths in American immigration prisons has gone unreported, the U.S. administration admitted in the wake of an investigation by the American Civil Liberties Union.
The revelations call into question the transparency of the work conducted by the service.
Moreover, basic medical care is not available in U.S. immigration detention centers as its officials have discretion to deny medical help, said David Shapiro, a lawyer from the ACLU.
