WATCH: Did someone just throw a PHONE at Trump during his NRA speech?
The person was reportedly escorted out. Though the throw missed by a country mile, many on social media jokingly said they hoped it would have hit its mark.

Somebody in the @NRA convention crowd threw a phone at President Trump today.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 26, 2019
The culprit wasn't able to fire a gun because the @NRA bans guns from its convention hall.
I'm very glad the President's life was protected by banning guns.
That aim was terrible - clearly not an NRA member— ILYA (@ilya_zzzzz) April 26, 2019
OH HOW WE WISH ...it would of hit him in the head! payback for all the damage he has done to America since his cheated election!!! Obstruction is shown in the Mueller report..IMPEACH TRAITOR TRUMP!!!— Jack Lynch (@JackLyn74324171) April 26, 2019
Some believed the phone was not intended to hit the president.
I agree. If it was, they need to have their eyes examined.— Chris Bellis (@EsoOrc) April 26, 2019
no they did not— Genophilia (@WhiteNewDeal) April 26, 2019
Others recalled the Iraqi journalist who tossed a shoe at US President George W. Bush during a 2008 press conference in Baghdad. That throw, while far more accurate, was evaded by the then-president.
I was hoping for a W shoe duck. pic.twitter.com/LdhweoULjq— longislandtonv (@longislandtonv) April 26, 2019
"As the President was walking onto the stage, but prior to his remarks, a cell phone from the crowd landed on the opposite side of the stage. An individual was removed from the event and the investigation is continuing," @SecretService tells @VOANews.— Steve Herman (@W7VOA) April 26, 2019
