Texas mom pulls ‘gun’ during violent brawl between teen girls (VIDEO)

A Texas mom has come under fire after she pulled what appeared to be a gun during a brutal fight between her daughter and another teen, arguing that she pulled out the BB gun as the other teen’s family brought knives with them.

Videos circulating online shows Houston mom Chade Lockett holding what seems to be a gun as she tries to break up a savage fight between her 13-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old girl. Tracy McIntyre, who is the 15-year-old’s grandmother and the person filming the controversial clip, told media: “What was she thinking with a gun?”

Lockett later admitted that the weapon was a fake, explaining to KPRC that the video does not tell the whole story. “I went back to the car to get the BB gun when I saw they had knives,” she said. “It was either the crowbar or the BB gun. I chose the BB gun. It looked realistic. It was 15 of them and two of us.” The video does show a woman holding what looks to be a knife.

While seemingly waiting for the right moment to swoop in to break up the bashing, Lockett can be seen turning to point the gun at McIntyre’s daughter, who was also at the scene. McIntyre’s daughter can be seen backing and running away quickly once the realistic looking gun was turned on her.

Aunt Veneisha Jones told ABC 13 that her family “were frightened for our lives… they’re both teens, they fight and get into it. That’s what teens do.”

Lockett defended her actions to the press. “When I see knives... what are you going to do? I’m going to defend myself and my daughter,” she said.

A police report has been filed with Houston Police. It is understood that the fight started over a Snapchat row, and started at another location prior to the video.
