'There is red in my heart': Ander Herrera bids farewell to Manchester United with emotional video

Manchester United's Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera is set to depart the club this summer, and the 29-year-old midfielder confirmed his departure with a special video montage shared via the club's Twitter account.

Herrera has been at United since his move to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao in 2014, and has been linked with a summer switch to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Herrera did not divulge his intended destination in his video, but made clear his love and respect for United and its fans as he said an official goodbye to the club.

"There is red in my heart, I knew it from the first time I played here and in the moment that I started to wear it," he said.

"A club with thousands of fans who respect and remember all the players who give everything. I felt special when I heard my name chanted. I felt proud when the fans decided I was part of this incredible history.

"Every time I represented this club, in every game, in wins and losses, even when I couldn't help from the grass, I understood what this club means."

Herrera won a host of honors during his time at Old Trafford, including the FA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League, and was voted the club's Player of the Year in 2017. The popular midfielder also won United's Player of the Year award in 2017.

Overall, he made 189 appearances for the club in all competitions, and scored 20 goals.

"I am going to remember each of the almost 200 matches that I have played with this jersey," he said.

"Because playing for the greatest club in England has been a true honor. Thanks for these five amazing years."

Herrera may make one final appearance for United before his departure for pastures new, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saying Herrera may play against Cardiff City in United's final match of the season on Sunday.
