Suarez beats boos boys as Barcelona lead Man United 1-0 in UCL quarterfinal
Barcelona's Luis Suarez silenced the Old Trafford boos by scoring the only goal of the game in his side's UEFA Champions League quarter final tie against Manchester United, netting an early header from a Lionel Messi cross.
Former Liverpool striker Suarez is a less than popular figure among Manchester United fans due to being convicted of using racist language towards United left back Patrice Evra, and was booed from the off.
The Uruguayan, who has also been disciplined multiple times for biting opponents, had the last laugh when he netted a header from a pinpoint Lionel Messi cross on 13 minutes.
The goal was originally ruled out for offside by the linesman, but upon review, what tuned out to be the only goal of the game was allowed to stand.
