‘I think I’m ready to play again’: Pele posts health update after Paris hospitalization

Brazilian football icon Pele has posted an update on his health after being hospitalized in Paris earlier this week, reassuring fans that he feels “so much better.”

The Brazilian legend, 78, was admitted to a hospital in the French capital while displaying symptoms of a "strong fever."

It came after he had taken part in a promotional event with French footballer Kylian Mbappe.

Later reports stated it had merely been a "precautionary measure," and Pele himself has now allayed any fears over his condition.

“Thank you for all your love! The anti-biotics are working and the tests are all (tick). I feel so much better, I think I'm ready to play again!” read a message to his 2.6 million Twitter followers.

Pele had appeared in good spirits during the media event with Mbappe, even joking that he hoped that the Frenchman would one day join Santos, the Brazilian club whom Pele represented throughout the majority of his playing career.

His latest message also hinted that he remains with his health, and sense of humor, very much in tact.
