Tackling Anti-China Propaganda w/ Amanda Yee, an update on targeted harassment in Florida

Amanda Yee is the host of the podcast Radio Free Amanda, where she tackles anti-China propaganda in politics, culture and the media. Anders Lee interviews Yee on this episode that’s hosted by Naomi Karavani. Lee and Yee look into the propaganda surrounding Chinese athletes at the Olympics, the development of – and Western backlash to – China's Belt and Road Initiative, the reality about what's happening in Xinjiang and why the US is building a campaign around it, Edward Said’s concept of Orientalism, and more.

Karavani is joined by Jaffer Khan for a continuation of a very American story. The Sheriff's Office in Pasco County, Florida has undertaken a “Pre-Crime” program that Karavani and Khan covered last week. Khan got his hands on a letter received by some of the parents of children targeted by the program. The program uses illegally collected data to target young people for police harassment in a clear attempt to intimidate their families into leaving town. The letter reads like a threat from a sheriff to a family that hasn’t been accused or found guilty of a crime.
