FBI reopens probe: ‘Huge blow against Hillary’

The FBI’s decision to reopen its investigation against Hillary Clinton shows that there are people within the deep state opposing her over concerns she could start a nuclear war with Russia, which neocons want, said Lew Rockwell, political commentator.

The FBI Friday reopened its probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state. FBI director James Comey said in a letter addressed to several congressmen that the bureau had discovered new emails that should be investigated.

RT: It's a pretty unexpected development with just under two weeks before the election. Do you think it will have much of an impact?

Lew Rockwell: Sure, I think it has already had a huge impact on the FBI internally, among the American people. Any government needs the consent of the governed, at least a tacit consent. This was losing the Obama administration, and the federal government, and the FBI, support among the American people. It is quite a wonderful thing. This has been the most entertaining and interesting campaign in my lifetime.

It’s just got more entertaining. I would say the FBI has taken a step against Hillary. They could easily have left this till after the election. So this is a strike at Hillary. I think it also indicates that there are some people within the deep state who oppose Hillary, because they’re concerned that she will start a nuclear war with Russia. So the crazy neocons want that. Even the bad oligarchs, who aren’t crazy, don’t want it. So, I think this is a further indication that things are moving against Hillary... This is a great thing for America, great thing for world peace, that this blow was taken to Hillary Clinton.

RT: Trump has praised the agency's decision in his campaign address today. Will this give him a boost?

LR: Oh, sure. It’s already given him a huge boost. More important — it cuts Hillary down. A lot of people, even the Hillary supporters, are worried about this stuff. They don’t like it... they think she is better than Trump. They are upset at this... The fact that the FBI has come back in and said: “we have more investigation to make and it’ll come sometime after the election”... is a huge blow at her, and quite an amazing thing.
