Ukrainian police take down Pablo Escobar

Ukrainian police take down Pablo Escobar

A mysterious billboard depicting the deceased infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar giving season's greetings has been taken down by police in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov.

The advertisement, for which no individual or group has claimed responsibility, showed a smiling Escobar wishing locals a "Happy New Year". The image aroused the public’s curiosity and a photograph of the billboard appeared on the internet. Shortly thereafter, officials ordered that the ad – which reportedly could have cost up to $25,000 – be removed. They did not, however, offer any theories as to its origin and appeared perplexed as to its purpose.
