Everlasting Paris handshake: Trump & Macron bid long farewell (VIDEO)

French President Emmanuel Macron and America’s Donald Trump have shared an almost 30-second handshake as the latter was wrapping up his first state trip to France.

The two leaders shared a passionate and lengthy handshake at the end of President Trump’s two-day state visit to France.

While the French President appeared to start trying to maneuver Trump around midway into the handshake, The Donald was way too absorbed in it. Some 20 seconds in, when the French first lady tried to take a grip on the situation, she had to contend with shaking Trump’s other hand. Even after she moved on, the two leaders held hands for a little while more, falling just short of a bold half-a-minute handshake.

Starting right from his inauguration ceremony, the US President has grown notorious for his odd and awkward handshaking habits, which he has demonstrated time and again during international meetings.

During his Paris visit, Donald Trump produced a gem of a handshake, when he first met French first lady Brigitte Macron. The president's spouse apparently went for a handshake, while Trump grabbed her by her shoulder and went in for a kiss, which was followed by a lengthy hand holding.
