Barack Obama can only serve eight years, though all missile defense shield technology problems won’t be worked out by that time, according to Lawrence Korb, a defense expert from the Center for American Progress.

On Wednesday the U.S. Congress is holding hearings into U.S.-Russia relations and the future of the missile defence testing.

Washington continues to stress it wants to find common ground with Russia on the controversial defence shield issue.
