Police in Grand Rapids, Michigan have confirmed that one person has been killed during a shooting at a clearance outlet on 28th Street.

The male victim was killed inside the store, and at least eight other people were reportedly injured, according to police.

The victim of the fatal shooting is reported to be an African American man in his early 20s, police said. The condition of the injured is unknown.

The shooting is reported to have occurred at a strip mall on 28th Street near Kalamazoo Avenue.

Police told reporters that more than 60 people were gathered at the premises before the shooting and they are not sure if the clearance outlet was operating as a business.

Sgt. Terry Dixon also told Wood TV8 that they were unsure how many shooters were involved in the incident.

Photos from the scene show shattered glass from the windows of a clearance outlet and a WOOD TV8 reporter on the scene says police are currently searching the building. No suspects have been arrested in relation to the incident.

Victims of the shooting arrived at a local hospital around 3:30 am, according to WZZM13
