Doctor who worked for the Queen killed in London traffic accident

A doctor who used to work for Queen Elizabeth has been killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday. Peter Fisher, 67, died at the scene after his bicycle was in collision with a truck in central London.

“We are all deeply shocked and saddened to learn that Dr Peter Fisher tragically died in a road traffic accident yesterday,” Gill Gaskin, medical director at University College London Hospitals, said.

“Peter was director of research at UCLH’s Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, and physician to Her Majesty The Queen.”

Buckingham Palace said the Queen has been informed of his death. A world renowned expert in homeopathy, Fisher has worked as a homeopathic physician to the British monarch for about 15 years.

“He was much respected as a good doctor who saw homeopathy as complementary to medical care. We are all shocked by his tragic loss,” the Queen’s former surgeon-gynaecologist Marcus Setchell told the Evening Standard. Fisher is the eighth cyclist to have been killed in London traffic collisions in 2018.
