Police release 6 people arrested in Westminster attack investigation

Six people arrested in the investigation into the terrorist attack in Westminster, London have been released from custody, Scotland Yard confirmed. Four others continue to be questioned.

The attack left four people dead, as well as the attacker, Khalid Masood, who died after being shot by police during the incident.

Two women, aged 21 and 26 years old, and four men aged between 23 and 28 years old, respectively, were arrested in Birmingham and released with no further police action.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested in East London on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts. She was released on bail until a date in late March, police confirmed.

The four remaining in custody were arrested on suspicion of “preparation of terrorist acts,” the police said.

A 58-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested at separate addresses in Birmingham on Thursday, and detained under the Terrorism Act (TACT).

A 35-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were arrested at separate locations in Manchester on Friday. The man was also detained under TACT while the woman was arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE).
