Brazilian UFC veteran killed in hit-and-run incident with taxi driver

Two-time Brazilian UFC fighter Rodrigo de Lima was killed in a hit and run incident in Belem, Brazil on Sunday after being struck from behind with a vehicle following an argument with an Uber driver.

Michel Prazeres, a UFC welterweight and longtime friend of the fighter known as 'Monstro', confirmed the news of de Lima's passing to MMAFighting.com on Monday.

He says that the 26-year-old De Lima and some friends were traveling in an Uber when an argument began with the vehicle's driver.

According to Prazeres, the driver stopped the car and an altercation ensued before he drove away from the scene.

However, he reportedly returned a short time later and struck de Lima with his car from behind resulting in his death. The fighter leaves behind a wife and two children.
