‘F*** you Eddie!’ - Tyson Fury’s four-letter message to Joshua promoter after ban clearance
‘Gypsy King’ Fury had received a two-year ban from UKAD after testing positive for a banned steroid in 2015. The ban was backdated on Tuesday, meaning the Manchester man is free to fight again. The 29-year old celebrated by singing along to Eminem’s 2002 hit ‘Without Me,’ with modified lyrics.
“So the BBBofC [British Boxing Board of Control] won’t let me be, or let me be me so let me see, they tried to shut me down on sports TV but it feels so empty without me,” a hand-wrapped Fury belts out.
After a short interlude, Fury picks his ditty back up: “Get ready, this shit’s about to get heavy, I just settle on my lawsuits - f*** you Eddie!”
The message is addressed to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who promotes British rival and current undisputed heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Fury also had a social media message for Joshua, tweeting on Tuesday: “Where you at boy? I'm coming for you punk [isn't] no1 blocking my path now!”
A mega fight between the two has long been mooted, especially as Joshua was the one who pieced together the fragmented heavyweight championships after Fury lost the belts by being stripped of his titles and then retiring.
Fury seemingly has a fondness for singing. After his last fight against longtime champion Wladimir Klitschko, whom he defeated for the heavyweight title, he sang acapella to his wife Paris in the ring in Germany.
The 29-year old has been active on social media since news emerged that his ban would be backdated, posting further videos posing in a £9,000 ($12,000) chinchilla fur coat to the song ‘Return of the Mack.’
Fury’s license was revoked by the BBBofC in October 2016 and his cousin Hughie Fury, 23, was also cleared after he too tested positive in 2015. Hughie dropped a close decision to Joseph Parker in September for the WBO world heavyweight title, the belt his cousin once held.
Both men contend that they "never knowingly or deliberately committed a violation." The elder Fury insists the failed test was down to eating ‘uncastrated wild boar’ and hinted that he may not even register with the BBBofC, citing their behavior during his ban.
