Demonstrators in the US city of Kenosha defy a 'state of emergency curfew' to continue sometimes extremely violent protests after officers there allegedly paralyze a black man by shooting him in the back. While over in the UK the Black Lives Matter movement also re-appears in headlines, as the BBC temporarily scraps lyrics for two colonial-era songs. But our debate guests think the issue goes much wider. Freedom of speech takes a bitter blow online, as Facebook blocks a group from Thailand criticizing the king. The social media giant increasingly choosing which protest movements deserve support and which will be silenced. Both the Democratic and Republican Conventions pass in increasing 'disarray' with Democrats refusing to back their party platform, and the GOP not even presenting an official platform at all!
