Turkey has begun a military offensive in Syria. President Erdogan announced on Twitter that it targets the Kurdish Workers Party and Islamic State terrorists. As the US is roundly condemned for abandoning its Kurdish allies in Syria we look at whether the decision was somewhat predictable or not. Two people are killed after numerous shootings in the German towns of Halle and Landsberg, one of them reportedly took place outside a synagogue, one suspect has been arrested.
