IBM drops out of facial recognition technology

In light of protests across the country, IBM has announced that the company is stepping out of the facial recognition game after growing outrage surrounding the practice. The tech company penned a letter to Congress saying it will no longer offer general purpose facial recognition or analysis software. Meanwhile, the United States officially entered a recession in February, ending years of economic expansion. Plus, the oil sector slides with the ongoing global unrest and coronavirus pandemic. The OPEC+ members agree to cut oil production until the end of July.
