"The state military machinery must guarantee peace, interests, and sovereignty of our country. It must rapidly and appropriately respond to any threats, no matter where they may come from," Putin told graduates of military academies and universities on Thursday. The president underlined the creation of modern Armed Forces and the strengthening of security in the country “are our absolute priorities.” He added that in its defense policy Russia will focus on “most up-to-date trends” in the military industry.
