Jokingly dismissed or suppressed in shame, porn is nonetheless a very complex a phenomenon, revealing something hidden about its consumers and society at large. Like any collective preoccupation, it gratifies and punishes, exalts and exhausts, exposes and misrepresents. With porn sites still drawing the biggest chunk of internet traffic, what makes it such a symbol of the Zeitgeist?
