17 years ago, the world was convulsing with protests against the war in Iraq; one even set a Guinness world record for the largest anti-war rally ever. But neither the three million in Rome, nor the over 30 million protesting across the globe could stop the Bush administration from launching operation Iraqi Freedom, which would lock the country in fratricidal violence for years to come.
