Witch-hunts and revolutionary women

People often misquote Jackie Walker saying things she never said, of doing things she never did, and often calling her anti-Semitic without telling you that she is in fact Jewish, married to a Jew, and lives in a once rather typical Jewish leftist household. She’s been expelled from the Labour Party of which she was a prominent member; her meetings have been disrupted by death threats, intimidation, and cancellation. Now, her film ‘WitchHunt’ has been metaphorically burnt by the book-burners. So, we invited her into the studio to talk about her new book on Noam Chomsky, and more.

Like politics everywhere, over a hundred years ago, the Russian Revolution can often look like an all-male affair. But in ‘The Women’s Revolution, Russia 1905-1917,’ we can see just how misleading the usual portrayals actually are. The role of women has largely been written out of the revolution but Judy Cox, author, educator, and activist, came into the studio to talk about the standout figures and the re-launch of her book in the US.
