Wayne Dupree: What Charles Barkley said is true... Politicians keep us hating each other. We are easier to rule that way

I've said repeatedly on my podcast that both political parties are bought and sold by corporate America. They both take their orders from the Chamber of Commerce and want the country divided so that it's easier to control.

Politicians want Americans fighting each other instead of fighting the political powers. I've also said if the American people wake up and realize they are being played in the game of politics, things will turn around, and this country could start moving forward.

However, it is a breath of fresh air when someone not inside the political bubble – in this case, retired NBA star Charles Barkley – has the ability to acknowledge this out in the open. We all know it to be true, but the media tries to silence it, and their politicians make use of it. We will rise above it the more of us that speak out.

“Man, I think most white people and black people are great people. I really believe that in my heart, but I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can keep their grasp of money and power.”

They divide and conquer.

“I truly believe in my heart most white people and black people are awesome people, but we’re so stupid following our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, and their only job is, ‘Hey, let’s make these people not like each other. We don’t live in their neighborhoods, we all got money, let’s make the whites and blacks not like each other, let’s make rich people and poor people not like each other, let’s scramble the middle class.

I truly believe that in my heart.”

What Barkley said is true. Why is Biden pushing for things that are so ludicrous? He obviously is getting something out of it. Now his next adventure is fattening up the pockets of unions. At this rate, the unions may damn near rival the president for approval ratings! About 30% of the American workforce belongs to a union. Biden is using the word “infrastructure” because we all know that has something to do with roads and whatnot. This bill will be like the last, and only a fraction goes towards what it is intended for.

That’s what I admire about Charles. He is more concerned with saying what’s right than saying what he’s told he should say.

Barkley has a lot of courage and guts to speak out like this. It is much easier for politicians to dog-whistle about race in order to get elected than it is to actually govern. We are currently seeing the Treasury looted by special interests while the electorate is distracted and divided by a focus on racial issues.

I think the majority of Americans, regardless of color or party, are great people. The politicians and the media are tearing apart and destroying this country while most reasonable people suffer and get forced to one side or the other. We are being led by hate, not love.

A moderate party could dominate for a generation and let the fringes stew in their own hate. The trouble is they all CLAIM to be moderate during the general election, then revert to their fringe ideas after taking office.

Facts are to be ignored if they don't fit the left's agenda, and all who dare to call attention to the deception are to be vilified, attacked until destroyed. It's hard to say who the greater enemy of liberty in America is today: the media, or the left who gives the media its marching orders, which they dutifully carry out.

I would be crazy not to talk about the elephant in the room: the media. Political parties have always tried to divide us, since that is their very nature – you vote for one and not the other. The real culprits are the legacy and social media. News organizations used to be the arbiter of truth, so the constitution carved out protection for them. But most mainstream media now have aligned themselves with a political party and are doing the same thing as the political parties they were supposed to keep in check. They have always leaned in a political direction, but now they don't even hide which side they are backing.

That said, and with the amount of discussion on Barkley's statement, I have reactivated my MLB package on cable and plan to see a couple of Orioles games this summer. My son and daughter are thrilled. Mr. Barkley is right; we should stop listening to politicians.
