‘Bernie Sanders is not winding down his campaign’

Bernie Sanders has to convince superdelegates that he has the polling, the momentum and enough delegates for them to switch their loyalty and give him the nomination, says RT America's Ed Schultz.

RT America's Ed Schultz sat down with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders to find out how he plans to beat Hillary Clinton to the party nomination.

RT: Tell us how the interview went. What did Bernie Sanders have to say?

Ed Schultz: There is a real attitude amongst the Sanders’ campaign right now that they are not even thinking about getting out. And tensions are starting to rise between the two campaigns because there are Democrats in America that want to see Bernie Sanders step aside and so Hillary Clinton – who is now a presumptive nominee in the minds of many people – can turn her focus on Donald Trump. If you look at the polling between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, she has got some work to do in three key states: that’s Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. In fact, right now Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in Ohio. But the mainstream media here in America isn’t paying much respect to Bernie Sanders because Sanders clearly in every single poll polls better against Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. So it is a real fight to the finish and there is no question that Bernie Sanders and his campaign is not going to wind down. There’ve been several stories that have been placed in the MSM that because Bernie Sanders is shifting his television advertising in California that he is somewhat winding down his campaign. That is simply is not the case and I talked to the candidate about that. But the main thing that has to happen for Bernie Sanders is that he is going to have to convince superdelegates that he has the polling, he has the momentum and he has enough delegates for them to switch their loyalty to give him the nomination.
