Russian military says Syria to receive new missile defense systems in near future
Syria will receive new missile defense systems in the near future, Head of the Main Operations Department at Russia’s General Staff Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy said in Moscow on Wednesday. “Russian experts will continue to train Syrian military servicemen, particularly teaching them to use the new missile defense systems that are planned to be delivered to Syria in the near future,” TASS quoted him as saying. He did not reveal any details concerning the missile systems. Rudskoy said earlier that Russia was ready to review the possibility of providing the S-300 systems to Damascus following the airstrikes carried out by the US, the UK and France.
