Remembering victims of deadly blaze

Remembrance ceremonies are due to be held in the city of Perm in Russia's Urals, a year after a nightclub blaze took the lives of 156 people and injured more than 80.

The disaster was started by fireworks used during a party in the packed Lame Horse Club.

The fire triggered a stampede, with partygoers rushing for the only exit – scores of people suffocated and many were crushed to death.

Investigators say the blaze broke out because of the improper use of pyrotechnics, coupled with the violation of fire safety regulations.

Eight people, including the club's managers, are currently standing trial in relation to the tragedy.
