Killer cop starts life sentence

Denis Yevsyukov, the ex-police officer convicted for the deadly shooting in a Moscow supermarket last year, has arrived at the jail where he will spend the rest of his days.

It is one of Russia's most secure prisons, nicknamed "the prison of the doomed". It currently holds about 700 people guilty of the most serious crimes and sentenced to life.

No one has ever managed to escape from the facility.

Yevsyukov will be serving a life term after he opened fire in a Moscow supermarket last April, killing two people and wounding seven.
