Rosneft and BP push ahead with Arctic deal

Russian energy giant Rosneft says it is pushing ahead with its alliance with BP to pursue its Arctic exploration project.

This comes despite a Swedish court ruling earlier in the week that said the alliance would conflict with BP's other joint-Russian partnership, TNK-BP.

Rosneft chairman Igor Sechin said the deal is not dead yet, and that he is satisfied with BP as a partner.

The multi-billion-dollar share-swap between the two oil giants was signed in January to exploit the potentially huge deposits of oil and gas in Russia's Arctic shelf.
