Blast at Moscow bus stop

There has been an explosion at a bus station in western Moscow on Tuesday evening, reports Interfax news agency citing a police source. Nobody has been injured in the blast.

Police working at the site have discovered a hole in the ground, which they believe to have been left by the explosion, the source said.

One version is that it may have been caused by a bomb, another is that it was a powerful electric discharge from an underground cable.

In an official statement, Moscow’s police supported the theory of an electrical malfunction, saying that there is construction work in the area at the moment.
